Manager, Employee Relations

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES is looking for an Employee Relations Manager to support the People & Culture team and management regarding employment legislation, ensuring our global and local policies and processes are aligned with the evolution of legislation. In this role you will be responsible for driving the engagement and collaboration with social partners, but also for providing employment law expertise, conducting investigations and serving as the point of contact for audits, GDPR and general data protection topics within the People & Culture team.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Lead the global approach and relationship with employee representatives – drive collaboration and strong working relations with various stakeholders
  • Act as the main point of contact for all employee relations matters in Luxembourg and across the company's various regions, where a local point of contact does not exist
  • Manage the annual information agenda with employee representatives, chair regular meeting in Luxembourg and involve subject matter experts as required
  • Coordinate with and support colleagues responsible for various ER in other regions or locations, attend meetings with employee representation groups outside Luxembourg in close cooperation with local lead
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employment legislation to ensure the company remains compliant
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to employee relations
  • Conduct investigations into grievances, complaints, and disciplinary issues when requested assistance by local Business Partner or alternatively for harassment cases
  • Support the training, development and mentoring of other colleagues on the topics of employment legislation, investigations, disciplinary issues, etc.
  • Assist the managers and business partners in managing complex employee relations cases
  • Facilitate dialog and negotiations with trade unions and employee representatives on issues such as pay and working conditions
  • Other projects and additional responsibilities based on company needs

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

Must Have

  • Degree and/or professional certification in HR, law, or a related field 
  • Background in a similar employee relations role, preferably in a global or multi-country company
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations
  • Familiar working with employee representatives in Luxembourg (experience in multiple countries represent an advantage) 
  • Expertise managing complex employee relations cases and mediation 
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Good understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to the various regions where the company operates
