Junior Analyst, Financial Reporting & Consolidation

Role Description Summary:

This is a fixed-term contract linked to a maternity leave cover, starting from August 2021, and ending in July 2022. You will be a key contributor to the group’s monthly closing process, both in carrying out consolidation activities as well as supporting Finance colleagues worldwide. You will resolve operational matters in the closing with guidance from other team members where needed.

You will be involved in analyzing the group's financial results and supporting the timely and accurate preparation of regulatory disclosures such as assets of consolidated financial statements.

You are involved in tasks and projects under the supervision of the Manager, Financial Reporting, including group-wide system upgrades and process transitions.


Are you…?

  • A partially qualified accountant with a good up-to-date technical understanding of accounting and consolidation under IFRS
  • Experienced with running, or auditing, international multi-currency full legal consolidations under IFRS
  • Able to plan your own time carefully and to prioritize, with proven experience of meeting tight deadlines

Extended Job Description:



Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:

  • Prepare and execute key monthly IFRS consolidation steps such as ensuring group ownership relationships up-to-date and FX rates in line with rates communicated by Treasury.
  • Resolve problems/irregularities in the closing process through communication with and coordination of team members, including other Finance functions.
  • Supervise the intercompany reconciliation process including periodic reviews of intercompany loan agreements.
  • Post specific standard monthly consolidation journals.
  • Complete standard monthly quality checklists identifying issues and following up where necessary with the relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare and perform group-level roll-forward analyses of specific balance sheet positions such as fixed assets, provisions, and deferred income.
  • Perform overall analytical review procedures on the group’s consolidated balance sheet
  • Prepare regulatory disclosures such as the group’s commitments schedule and, together with the Legal team, appropriate provisions, and disclosures regarding claims and litigations
  • Support drafting of internal & external reporting including consolidated IFRS financial statements
  • Support developments to consolidation and financial reporting processes and systems to strengthen the quality framework
  • Back-up other team members as needed

  • Strong analytical skills and care in understanding and checking information
  • Ability to handle pressure and the flexibility to be available at peak pressure moments
  • The ability to communicate, and guide, clearly in an international environment


Preferred Education & Experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered):

  • Partially qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), preferably with a Big 4 background
  • Minimum two years of experience with running, or auditing, international multi-currency full legal consolidations under IFRS
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written. Other languages such as French or German- an asset
