Internship - V2K Update

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Spectrum Development team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. 
Based in Betzdorf, you will contribute to the development and control of an information system for satellite networks and satellite network filings in support of the activities of spectrum development at SES.


Extended Job Description:



Update the in-house database (V2K)

  1. Carry out an inventory of data (GXT mostly), quantify the problem of GXT validity we have (open contours, crossing contours, longitude not matching the current position of the satellite, etc)
  2. Provide a “grade” for data quality on satellites, focusing on those that are specifically mentioned in the COCOD system / COCOD Document
  3. Identify critical satellites to update based on sales engineering feedback,

Define a path to update that starts on the most important satellites, works its way down.

  1. Modify transponder plans for the critical satellites, if needed
  2. Add transponder data for the critical satellites, where needed 
  3. Unlink all GXTs that are either out of sync with the longitude of the satellite, 
  4. Remove double-linking of files, where one is valid, and another is not
  5. Produce new GXT files as needed for the critical satellites -> Globe F use is mandatory


  • Being a current Bachelor/ Master’s student in Information Technology or in a relevant technical area;
  • Strong interest in the media/telecommunication business and technical interest in satellites;
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills;
  • Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access);
  • Easiness to communicate at all levels;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset;
  • EU-nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
