6-month internship, starting in the third quarter of 2021
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Software Solutions Engineering team at SES-TechCom in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry.


Based in Betzdorf (Luxembourg) you will be part of the Emergency.lu (https://emergency.lu) team, you will contribute to one of the following projects:

  • Phonebooth for affected populations
  • Managed WiFi Proof-of-Concept based on Ubiquiti UniFi equipment

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the Emergency.lu software team, you will contribute to the software development of either the Phonebooth for affected populations or a Managed WiFi, both Systems consist in the translation of the user’s needs into the use case, and the implementation of the POC(Proof of Concept), thus you will interact with multiple SES Techcom teams(RF Engineer, Network Engineer, System Engineer).

Your responsibilities will be the following but not limited to:

  • Lead the definition of the Use Cases for:
    • The Phonebooth for affected populations
    • Managed WiFi for affected populations
  • Lead the development of the POC for:
    • The Phonebooth for affected populations
    • Managed WiFi for affected populations
  • Implement and demonstrated the POC:
    • The Phonebooth for affected populations
    • Managed WiFi for affected populations

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Being a current Bachelor/ Master’s student in Aerospace, Computer Science, Software Engineering or in a relevant technical area;
  • Strong interest in network monitoring systems, customer support interfaces and key performance indicator metrics;
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Perl, IP networks and protocols;
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills;
  • Work independently as well as in a team;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages is considered an asset;
  • EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
