Internship - Satellite Software Defined Radio Demonstrator

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for a 6-month internship in Engineering starting in January 2023?

 

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Software Engineering team in a fast-paced, global organization in a unique and innovative industry.

The implementation of flexible reconfigurable satellite receivers is important for future systems, which can be reconfigured in transmission parameters frequently. This project aims to explore from a practical approach the implementation of a lab demonstrator of a software defined satellite receiver using GNU software radio open-source code and software radio hardware in combination with a satellite reception antenna. In this internship, you will be responsible for (non-exhaustive list):

  • Working in the System Engineering team on a software defined radio demonstrator and code the receiver
  • Identifying the lab setup requirements for the SDR receiver, consisting of satellite reception antenna and universal software radio peripheral (USRP) receiver
  • Using open source GNU software radio code and change and complement it to work in combination with the software defined radio receiver setup

 

YOUR PROFILE

1. You must have

  • Current student in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or in a relevant area;
  • Strong interest in coding required, preferably Python but any relevant coding experience is considered a good basis;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Able to work in Luxembourg (EU-citizenship or valid work permit for Luxembourg).
     

2. It would be nice if you had

  • Good practical electronics knowledge is considered a big advantage;
  • Highly motivated learner and practical problem solver;
  • Additional languages considered an asset.
