Internship - Prometheus metrics and development of Grafana dashboards

Are you looking for a 6-month internship in Software Engineering starting as soon as possible?


This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Spacecraft Control Ground Software Development team in a fast-paced, global organization within a dynamic  and innovative industry.
Based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, you will contribute to create an inventory of existing Prometheus metrics generated by the different critical software subsystems supporting satellite operations, and to create meaningful Grafana dashboards to present the metrics in a useful graphical user interface for the benefit of software engineers, satellite controllers and satellite engineers.

To do so, you will be in charge of:

  • Learning about Prometheus and Grafana, and how to generate, collect and display metrics and log information;
  • Compiling an inventory of all existing Prometheus metrics;
  • Developing graphical and textual representations of the useful subsystem metrics to help engineers and controllers to monitor the Ground Control System and to diagnose the cause of system malfunctions in a timely manner.



1. You must have

  • Current student in a Bachelor in software engineering or computer science;
  • Interest in data collection and visualization;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Able to work in Luxembourg (EU-citizenship or valid work permit for Luxembourg).


2. It would be nice if you had 

  • Easy contact with end users to gather information about what the dashboards should be organized;
  • Interest in the global technology, media, and telecom business and satellite communications in particular;
  • Additional languages considered an asset.
