Internship - Network Automation and Optimization using Cisco Prime

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

6-month internship, starting in February 2022
Based in either Betzdorf (Luxembourg) or Virginia (USA), you will contribute to improving the SES Global network by automating and optimizing network configurations using Cisco Prime.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

First, you will be creating policy templates to compare and update production network devices to engineering baselines and creating a process to keep network devices updated in a programmatic way. Secondly, you will contribute to standardize the global WiFi configuration according to industry best practices, building documentation and configuring reporting and alarming leading to enhanced performance across the enterprise.

In order to do so, your responsibilities will but the following (but not limited to):

  • Work together with the Network Engineering team in analyzing the as is WiFi deployment, researching industry best practices and performing a fit-gap analysis.
  • Assist in developing data-driven customer insights
  • Improve and update internal market intelligence databases and dashboards
  • Provide other ad-hoc support for various internal stakeholders from corporate functions and Networks business unit

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Current student in Computer Science, Information Technology or in a relevant area
  • Strong interest in the global technology, and telecom business and satellite communications in particular
  • Very strong computer literacy (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access); knowledge of MS Power BI and/or other data visualization software considered a big plus
  • Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset
  • US-citizens, EU-citizens or work permit for Luxembourg
