Internship - Model-Based System Engineering

ROLE DESCRIPTION 

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Solutions Engineering team and design the ground segment of a novel satellite-based quantum key distribution system.


Based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, you will familiarize to QKD systems and contribute to performing the design of a space and terrestrial Quantum Computing Infrastructure (QCI) network. You will use a model-based system engineering (MBSE) digital-modeling tool to assist you to perform the ground segment design. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsiblities include, but are not limited to:

  • Familiarize to QKD networks (QKDN) and main components  
  • Engage with senior engineers in order to analyze the main requirements driving the design
  • Familiarize to MBSE methodology for system design
  • Use a MBSE digital-modeling tool perform the design of a QCI Network 
  • Report progress in sub-project meetings
  • Assess the advantages and limitations of the selected MBSE Tool


YOUR PROFILE

1. You must

  • Be a Master's student in Computer Science, Information Technology, Aerospace, Physics, Networks, Quantum or relevant technical area;
  • Experience in programming languages 
  • Ability to use collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Office 365; 
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Able to work in Luxembourg (EU-citizenship or valid work permit for Luxembourg).

 

2. It would be nice if you had 

  • Strong interest in Quantum technology 
  • Knowledge of model-based system engineering methodologies, such as Capella or UML2
  • Additional languages considered an asset
