ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

6-month internship, starting as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Payload Engineering (EU) team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry.

Based in Betzdorf, you will contribute to the improvement of the satellite payload operations. SES uses Footprint Monitoring System to monitor its service area stability. This internship aims to propose and implement software improvement to the components of the current system.

 

Extended Job Description:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the global system functions and mechanisms
  • Phase 1: Improve interface between hardware and software of the remote station
  • Phase 2: Propose and implement improvements of the connectivity between the remote components of the system and the central entity,
  • Phase 3: Propose, document and implement improvements of the central entity algorithm for system resilience

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Being a Bachelor/Master’s student in Electronics/Software development or in a relevant technical area;
  • Strong interest in the media/telecommunication business and technical interest in satellites
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills, experience with programming language (C/C++/Python), network applications and Software Defined Radio;
  • Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access);
  • Knowledge of Linux systems
  • Work independently as well as in a team;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
  • EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
