Description of the student’s project/job and context:
SES is one of the biggest satellite operators with satellites in two different orbits and deep expertise on delivering video and data services to the globe. In our Video customer interfacing Service Management Centre (SMC) we are looking for an intern to join our team.
Our team is part of the Operations group connecting directly with the customers. This is a key role in the organization as it involves performing diagnostics, creating maintenance requests, and coordinating with the internal and remote teams to support our customers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and analyse complex data which will drive to system adjustments
- Suggest and implement proactive measures upon agreement with stakeholders to optimize systems & alarms to reduce downtime
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring process, configurations and incident responses
- Enhance existing reporting on system performance, uptime and incident statistics
- Develop automation scripts to streamline monitoring tasks and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and suggest implementation solutions
YOUR PROFILE
- Current student of electronics/telecommunications, computer science, Information systems, or in relevant area
- Strong interest in the global technology, media and telecom business and satellite communications in particular
- Strong computer literacy (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
- Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset
- EU-citizens or work permit for Luxembourg
- Comfortable of scripting or programming languages
