ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Business Development Intern supports the Business Development function by structuring, organizing, and visualizing a variety of strategic initiatives and projects. The role contributes to improved coordination, planning and communication across internal stakeholders, while exploring new ideas, topics, and opportunities in a dynamic environment. By doing so, the overall time‑to‑market is supported and improved.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys exploring new topics, thrives in a dynamic, highly-technical environment, and brings structure, clarity, and creativity to complex projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Organizational Support
- Assist in structuring and organizing information related to ongoing initiatives and projects.
- Help maintain internal coordination tools, timelines, and activity trackers.
- Support the BD Manager and team with preparation of project updates and status overviews.
- Coordination of Initiatives
- Coordinate internally across different teams involved in Business Development projects.
- Help track progress, milestones, and interdependencies between initiatives.
- Ensure smooth flow of information, supporting follow‑up actions and alignment between stakeholders.
- Exploratory & Analytical Support
- Conduct exploratory research on new topics, market areas, technologies, or business opportunities.
- Summarize findings into digestible insights and structured briefs.
- Propose new ideas or potential angles based on discovered information.
- Visualization & Presentation Support
- Create clear, visually compelling materials (PowerPoint, dashboards, concept notes, diagrams).
- Support the development of presentation structures for new ideas, opportunities, and initiatives.
- Translate complex or fragmented inputs into professional, coherent visual formats.
- Independence of action – while following internal processes, the role is highly autonomous, demonstrating both helicopter and detailed views, as well as strong exploratory and structuring capabilities.
- Decision Making – while recommendations and proposals from the intern are part of the mission, final decision‑making is done within the management structure of the SES TechCom entity.
- Problem Solving – while not requiring specific technical expertise, an engineering background would be very useful to understand the topics addressed and to support problem‑solving with the appropriate resources.
- Key result areas – proactive structure, coordination, planning*,* and communication of the various business development initiatives resulting in collaboration initiatives, internal technical projects, and/or commercial agreements.
- Supervisory responsibility – none.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Management, Strategy, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in business development, innovation, or strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Good command of English; additional languages are an asset.

- Key performance indicators: timeliness, and effectiveness of coordination, quality and clarity of deliverables.
- Main interfaces: Business Development, Strategy, Marketing, and other cross‑functional internal teams.
