Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem Payload

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Payload Engineer to join one of our Spacecraft Subsystems teams! The international team is in charge of ensuring our customers' seamless access to their services, and their implementation.

In this role, your mission starts from the procurement phase up until the daily operations, and you will be collaborating with multiple internal teams to ensure a smooth service. In order to support our customers regardless of the time of day, you will be providing 24x7 on-call support to our customers.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Ensure satellite service availability by providing engineering expertise within payload in the full satellite lifecycle; from procurement to build to operations
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of the team
  • Monitor, maintain and ensure satellite health and safety by continuous surveillance and telemetry data
    • Analyse data and build modelling for optimization of satellite performance
  • Plan, coordinate and perform required RF transponder testing
  • Support the development of Radio Frequency In-Orbit test systems
  • Develop and validate procedures and tools related to Payload operations
  • Ensure recovery in case of anomalies, with developed procedures
  • Engage in continuous effort to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the satellite operations and data analysis
  • Interface with internal and external parties in relation to the responsibilities of the subsystems, such as external Satellite Manufacturers and internal Ground and Spacecraft teams 

 

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

Must Have

  • Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, with 0-3 years of applicable professional experience within satellite operations or RF
  • Experience operating RF test equipment
  • Programming skills, including Python or Matlab
  • Ability and willingness to meet the needs of a 24x7 on-call environment
  • A valid driver license is essential for on-call support

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience in satellite engineering and/or operations on Thales, Airbus, MAXAR, Northrop Grumman or Boeing for GEO or MEO satellites
  • Signal Processing experience
  • Ability to travel internationally
