Internship - DVB Multicast database

ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Monitoring & Digital Systems Engineering team, in a growing organization within a dynamic industry.
Based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, you will contribute to the migration to IP by documenting all existing multicast streams carrying DVB transport streams and setting up a database (likely EXCEL format) for the Manual Analysis System (MAS).
As a DVB Multicast database intern, you will be responsible to:
- Work together with the MDS-GOE team to understand the DVB Multicast IP infrastructure, its capabilities and functionality and its architecture.
- Work together with the MDS-CAS (Dataminer) team to understand how the DVB Multicast IP infrastructure could be included in the SES Dataminer ecosystem.
- List all multicast services currently in use across the broadcast network, both monitoring and broadcast networks.
- Provide a database compatible with the MAS, streamlining the process of analysis for the operational team.
YOUR PROFILE
- MUST HAVE
- Current student in Telecommunications, Media Technology or Information Technology or in a relevant area.
- Strong computer literacy (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
- Programming skills is an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Able to work in Luxembourg (EU-citizenship or valid work permit for Luxembourg).
- NICE TO HAVE
- Knowledge of Media / Video standards, DVB, IP and multicast an advantage
- Knowledge of relational databases and REST interface technology
- Strong interest in the global technology, media, and telecom business and satellite communications in particular
- Additional languages considered an asset
