Role description summary
The Digital Ground Development Intern will join a team supporting virtualized modem platforms and digital integration with Gateway and remote terminals.
He/She will look into potential adoption with the cellular infrastructure like 5G NR for NTN and OpenRAN. He/She will support 5G activities for in-lab and in-orbit testing by contributing and learning about the hardware and software design. The main activities will be based on 5G NR waveform optimization for NTN using software suits like OAI, srsRAN and MATLAB.
Primary responsibilities / Key result areas
- Support the 5G NTN lab activities, be active in both hardware and software development.
- Study and analyze 5G NTN requirements defined by 3GPP.
- Collaborate and learn from the relevant teams (gateway, terminal, platform, network).
Qualifications & Experience
- A Master student in Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or related field
- Theoretical understanding of wireless communications and standard like LTE, 5G and etc. is a plus.
- Hands on experience with defined radios (SDR) is a plus.
- Experience using lab equipment for testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of C++, Python or any other relevant programming language is required.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
