Coordinator, External Communications

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

 

You will be part of the External Communications (EC) team, that is responsible for managing a strategic flow of information to all non-internal SES audiences in order to manage the company’s reputation and influence market perceptions. Under the guidance of the EC senior team members, you will be responsible for essential areas in the team function, including: supporting development of content that positively positions SES,  supporting press office and also, supporting high-level HQ Visits, and supporting the strategic execution of the EC budget.

If you are a communication-wizard, then this role is for you, because it deals with diverse external stakeholders like media, governments, public relations agencies and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation from the Senior Leadership Team to employees.

 

Extended Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

 

  • Support development of communications packages and content, including monthly report, presentations and talking points
  • Support high-level visits to the SES headquarters in Luxembourg
  • Support in distributing news to the media
  • Create and improve work processes to disseminate news and information to internal stakeholders
  • Serve as connection between Finance and Accounting departments
  • Raise purchase requests and orders, process and file invoices

 

COMPETENCIES

 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good organisational skills and priority setting skills
  • Ability to drive maximum effectiveness from external PR and communications agencies and contractors
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment, and build relationships and across functions
  • Ability to capture images and videos for local events a plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • Up to 2 years of relevant work experience in public relations, corporate communications and/or journalism
  • Proven experience in, and passion for, driving messages/news/narratives across a range of digital and offline presence
  • Digital savvy with a strong understanding of best practices in various traditional and digital communications vehicles
  • Experience in copywriting and editing preferred

 

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

 

  • Native-level fluency in English required
  • German, French and/or Luxembourgish required
