(Senior) Engineer, Software Solutions - Quantum

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

We are looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer for the Software Solutions team in SES TechCom Luxembourg. In this role, you will join a team of talented software engineers, who work on European governmental and institutional projects requiring a specific level of expertise. This role aims to support SES' Quantum Communication strategy, and for example the Eagle1 programme.

Your missions begin with the tender phase, where you will prepare technical proposals in an international level. You will also design, develop, implement and improve various software solutions for space and ground related services and systems. Are you up for the challenge?

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

• Lead the completion of software projects related to Quantum
  • Develop software solutions in concept, design, specification, implementation, integration, release and maintenance phases
  • Improve and maintain existing codebases, identify and address bugs, fulfill change requests and improve code quality
  • Perform software unit testing and integration
  • Do software design, system architecture and development work needed for solution implementation, including team control functions
  • Lead the design reviews, test activities and review of technical documentation for software systems
  • Automate the development lifecycle using CI/CD best practices
• Organise, supervise and coordinate on-site and off-site development teams in coordination with project managers, systems architects and solution engineers
• Follow up technology development and industry trends in the field, and make recommendation to management regarding the software solutions

YOUR PROFILE:

Must Have

• Master's degree or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, software development and/or software solutions implementation
  • Experience working on Quantum topics
• Experience working as a Software Technical Lead on the development of at least one large-scale project
• Experience with the following programming languages, frameworks and tools:
  • C or C++
  • Python or Bash
  • Software design principles such as OOP, UML, C4-model
  • Agile methodologies, such as Kanban, Scrum, Azure, Azure DevOps
  • ITIL and/or ECSS
• Willingness to undergo a EU security clearance procedure

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with network design, deployment and operations
• Knowledge of satellite technologies and satellite-based communications
• Knowledge of TMForum or MEF3.0 frameworks
• Willingess to travel internationally
