(Junior) Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES is looking for a Junior Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer to join the determined Ground Management Systems team in Luxembourg and contribute in building the gateway management system globally. You will participate in the development of operational software components and solutions for the automated remote control of the SES Ground Gateway systems.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Develop, test and maintain operational software for the automated remote control of the SES Ground Gateway systems
- Develop and execute automated BDD (Behavior-driven development) testing
- Automate the development lifecycle by employing Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD)
YOUR PROFILE:
Must Have
- Graduated in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree level)
- Hands-on experience in programming (front-end / back-end) and proficiency in at least one of the following languages (our current development is based on Go, if you don’t have relevant specific knowledge on Go, SES will offer required on-job training):
- C/C++
- Python
- Java
- Go
- Initial experience or knowledge of Git, GitLab and/or Jenkins
- Comfortable working with the following technologies and toolchains:
- Linux OS
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL
- Interface layers: Kafka, REST, gRPC, ZMQ
- TCP/IP networks
- Web servers (e.g., Apache, NGINX)
- Virtualized & containerized app deployments
- Understanding of cloud orchestration tools, technologies, and API standards (AWS, Azure, Google, Cloud, Kubernetes)
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have
- Solid foundation in computer science with understanding of many aspects of software development (design patterns, application development, network authentication, security systems, microservice architecture, layout technologies, browser testing and debugging, web development)
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum ecosystem is an asset
- Willingness and proactivity to learn constantly, keep knowledge up to date with latest technologies
- This position may require travelling internationally from time to time
